Y/Project : Spring/Summer 2020 Menswear Fashion Show in Paris (with interview)

Designer: Glenn MartensInspiration/location: in the Oratory of the Louvre, with the song "Carmen" in the background, performed by Callas and a very funny version by The Muppets show coming from within the speakerCollection: romantic, unique, timeless. Basics with a twist, called "Infinity”, according to the designer, and designed this time so that everyone wears the jacket, parka or sweater in their own way, making it a different garment by rolling or folding it at the shoulders and the collar, so it looks nearly like a flower. The pantsuit is made in different types of organza and boiled wool, creating a folded, voluminous effect. The pre-collection womenswear is presented with the menswear, including some extremely beautiful dresses.Note: the line of bags in accordion shapes & gold shoes.Itw Glenn Martens: For me personally, I am obsessed with history and so the Oratory of the Louvre is a place that I have always wanted to see and I’m really happy to have done a fashion show here for the first time. The collection has a romantic feel, it is sophisticated, there's a lot of frivolity in the sense that the structure brings a lot of draping and movementThe idea is to take ownership of the room and to make sure you feel good about it again and that's it’s all in the way that you wear it. So, it's funny because you have reversed collars on suits that open, to become shoulder pieces or if you want, you can wear them properly too, that’s the sort of game.We always put the menswear on the women and the idea is that it's parts that grow on people so it can be ultra-feminine and ultra-masculine, it depends on how it is worn.Music from the show (for use only in the context of the show, under cover of the right to information)
