David Koma - Women's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection in London (with interview)

Designer: David KomaInspiration: It’s from Pedro Almodovar and his cult films that the designer sought his inspiration, highlighting sensuality and movement through flamenco dancing. Collection: The bottom of skirts and dresses are finished with frills and oversized trousers are worn with tops resembling bras.Plexi discs, a signature look for David Koma, decorate outfits following the model's curves and moving with the music.Note: Long evening dresses that sparkle are a first for the designer. Interview with David Koma:I love the flamenco and dancing and Spain and stuff so for me it was interesting how can I translate impression and movement in kind of my own minimalistic sculptural way. So that was how we injected the movement into the dresses. Flamenco has a lot of expression. For me, the bright colours were like emotional expression, to break my monochromatic love of general collection palate. So we had that you know, that vivid green, that neon yellow and that very kind of particular, strong lilac.Music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
