Wedding dresses are always present in the haute couture fashion shows, important element for clients who dream of an outfit that’s traditional but also unique at the same time. today, with multiple proposals of white- a very trendy colour -, models for the big day can be selected from a large number of designers and in 2013, fluidity and sensuality prevails, but with a touch of rock’n’roll, as explained by designer rime arodaky.

rime arodaky : for wedding dresses, trends do exist even if they are much slower. lace had slightly disappeared and since the marriage of kate middleton where she dared to dress in lace, it’s now back in full force, so i’m asked more and more to make it and it’s completely essential today. also, those who come to me are particularly fond of the very fluid materials like chiffon and crepe. these textures have a vertical line and fall ethereally. so people do ask for lighter materials and then there are newcomers. i try to tackle materials that we haven’t seen yet, like leather, suede, lace patterns that are not quite floral but graphic, that’s how we try to shake the codes of this field.
in 2013, there is a growing demand and apparently there are more weddings than the previous two years but actually there is a real return to this value which i think reassures and comforts in times of crisis.
