Dries Van Noten - Women's Fall/Winter 2014/15 Collection in Paris (with itw)

Back to Hôtel de Ville for the Dries Van Noten show. Beneath the guilding and crystal chandeliers, 54 models present this colourful collection. A psychedelic, pop-art vibe with round stripes and optical effects meshed with freshness surrounding floral prints. We recognize this ever-present fluidity and ease on loose trousers cut just above the ankle and floaty dresses. A wide range of jackets and coats are also spherical and enveloping…This season, shininess adds value with zips appearing on trouser hems or the contours on a blouse whilst clutches are oversized, tucked under the arm. Perfection comes in the form of a black trouser suit…Season after season, Dries Van Noten continues to create history, always combining passion, magic and poetry…as you will also see at his exhibition, opening on 1st March at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.Interview:Dries Van Noten:I wanted to create a really colourful collection, for a woman who takes risks and who is looking for a different kind of elegance, an elegance than she finds in bold colours that are brighter than usual so there are mixtures of optical stripes with splashes of paint all done by hand that give an element of creativity. We have been working on the collection and the exhibition for months, not just a couple of weeks so the exhibition was entirely organised for us at the end of last year so over the past couple of months we were able to concentrate on the collection.Music from the fashion show
