Gucci Fall Winter Collection 2013/14 in Milan

The Gucci show opens Milan fashion week with no less than 49 looks composing the wardrobe of a woman's typical day. The first silhouette, a skirt suit consisting of a short jacket with rounded sleeves and a pencil skirt, includes embroidery of red and gold leaves, giving the impression of a shell growing on the side. Leather in all its forms, from crocodile to very fine skin, returns as a leitmotif. A rather strict, almost robotic spirit emerges from this collection reinforced by outfits worn as armor, with turtlenecks, sleeves and long gloves. The large leaves are also placed on a gold dress and a trouser suit with a jacket marked at the hip, then disappearing in favor of iridescent checks. The tone softens with very 50s dresses, in dusty pink or monochrome blue, giving an air of Jolie Madame. A perfect black coat is a reminder that chic materials remain the basic element. Sensuality returns with the presence of transparency and feathers on satin evening gowns. The owls of Frida Giannini, creative director of the house, are ready to leave their nest.
